I moved out left roommate by herself?
So I moved out of my roommate apt On June 12th I paid all of June rent. I didn't get on her lease and didn't sign a lease with her. I was just there helping her out while she could get back on her feet I was there for eight months and things started off good but come about Jan thing started going down hill she didn't clean any thing any time she wanted to ask me stuff she did it threw facebook even know I was in the room next to hers. I work 10 hrs or more a day and she works from home and was always there but still never cleaned she had 2 cats and I had 1 and I since the time I moved in always paid for the cat food and cat litter. I ask her once to set down and have a meeting to discussed house choirs. She didn't want to and blew me off I have a dog also and she would lock my dog up in my room with out water and food and my room would get 92degress So I had to get my own place she lived like she was a pig or something. But now shes saying I need to find her a roommate and pay for July rent because its my job to find her a roommate I was nice enough to put it on craigslist for her with her number but my email I have 6 emails saying they have been trying to call her but she wont call them back. So I was wondering since I didn't sign the lease and I am not a sub leaser if she really has any right to ask me to pay for July rent I am in Memphis TN, Thank for your help

No, she's being ridiculous. You have been more than fair and it's time that she learned to take care of herself.

she has no right! she's just being lazy and stupid she has to look for one not you. you did enough by putting it on craigs list

You were right to leave and if you have nothing legally binding you to her lease and you paid the rent for June you have nothing to worry about blow her off like she did you.Its her job to find someone who wants to live with her .you no longer live with her so its her place, her lease, and her problem.hope it helps:)

You were allot nicer than any of my past roommates were. They took off without saying anything and no rent. I had to cover the whole months rent and find another roommate. This happened a few times. You did more than you needed to already.
